寝る前の祈りを忘れた男の子が、ベットから起き出して窓辺でひざまずいた。夜空には美しい月が輝いていた。男の子は頭をたれ、祈りを捧げた。同じ月を見ているであろうホームレスの女性に、兵士の娘を戦場に送り出した電車に乗っているビジネスマンには早く戦争が終わるようにと。病院の老人に、食べるものが無くお腹をすかしている人達の為に。そして家族やペットや学校の先生の為に。祈ることの尊さが、同じ月のもとに暮らす人々みんなを暖かく包んでくれる。

冒頭で夫々の五感にうったえる様に、各自の五感を通じて得られる平和を促している。抽象的な平和の概念を、具体的なイラストと名言や格言で表現しているので、英語力も内容的にも高学年絵本ではあるが、平和教育には大いに役立つ教材にもなる。世界平和への願いが強く込められた構成は、素晴らしい。Nothing to do と同じイラストレーターではあるが、こちらの絵本では制作もこなしている。
