Rubina gets an invitation of her classmate’s birthday party as very first time for her.  With big excitement she asks her mother a permission to go, her mother gives Rubina one condition of taking her young sister with her to join the birthday party.  Rubina explains her mother the different manner in her new school from their traditional cultural  way, but her mother insists the condition. Despite the embarrassing, Rubina takes her little sister, Sana, to the party.  After few years passed,  the time comes for Sana to receive the first invitation of her friend’s birthday party.

This is a counting and vocabulary book written in English and Spanish. Children  go shopping to prepare for their party as counting different objects.

子ども達がパーティーの準備の為、買い物をしてゆく。バスケットが一つ、その中に買い物をしたトランペットが二つ、、、、と数を述べながら買い足してゆく。各ページには簡単な言葉がスペイン語と英語で並んで書かれていて、巻末には１から１０までの数え方がスペイン語と英語でまとめてある。両言語に親しみが持てるように、暖か味のあるイラストが子どもの世界を楽しく描いている。
