A Single Pebble : A Story of the Silk Road

Ali は、戦火の激しくなるバグダッドに住んでいた。彼は、サッカーが好きで、大音響の音楽が好きで、そして何よりも芸術的で伝統的な文字を書く練習が好きであった。Ali は、８００年も前にアラビア文字の美しさを完成した有名な書道家であるYakutを崇拝していた。Yakut は、モンゴル族がバグダッドを攻めてきた時、塔に一人こもって平常心を保つ為に文字を書き続けた。Ali も、戦火の激しい夜の闇の中で、平和を祈った文字を書き平常心を保つようにした。

ダリア　Ｐ．Ｒ．は、写真で紹介している絵本の作者兼イラストレーターですが、母親でもあり教育者でもあります。家族と一緒にラスベガスに在住です。彼女の最初に出版したこの素敵な絵本は、最初の着想から３年の年月を得て出版が実現しました。継続して新しい本も、２０１９年には出版を待っているそうです。同じラスベガスの住民としても、彼女の活躍を大いに楽しみにしています。
