様々な子ども達が一緒に集う学校の様子を全部、Have動詞を使った文章で表わしている。夫々の状況で２つの文章が書かれているが、詩のように韻を踏んでいる。声を出して大きな声で読み上げたい絵本である。イラストに描かれた子ども達の表情も豊かであり、作者のHarriet は教師としての体験を思う存分にこの絵本に活かしている。同じ作者とイラストレーターで、児童絵本を複数出版している。

お祖父さんからいつも面倒をみてもらっていた少女が、いよいよ幼稚園にゆくことになった。洋服が破けた時お祖父さんが張ってくれたダックテープ、腕の汚れを取る時にお祖父さんが使った液体石鹸、藪の中で転んだ時にお祖父さんが張ってくれた水玉のバンドエイド。これらの三点セットが、幼稚園の初日にお祖父さんの代わりとなった。役に立ったり立たなかったり、、、でも、何とか友人も出来た少女の一日を、明るいタッチのイラストで描いている。ワクワクドキドキしながらも、自分で何とか問題を解決しようと奮闘する少女が微笑ましい。

.何もしないことが、いかに現代社会には必要であるか、、、、、予定がビッシリと組まれ、常に時間に追われ、何かしていないと退屈でどうにもしようが無い現代の子ども達に、何もしないことの素晴らしさを語っている。何もしないことは、想像力を豊かにし、自分の周りの気ずかなかった自然の動きに目覚めさせ、自分の存在を確認させてくれる。人間はHuman being であり、Human doing ではないと気ずいた作者らしい。イラストレーターも、大自然の成長に見られる８つのパターンを参考に各ページの構図を描いている。実に多くの気ず気が盛り込まれた、大変心地よい絵本である。

３人の独身男性友達が、そのうちの１人の結婚前に、３人でスペインを旅行することになった。未体験の海底の世界や、スペインのローカル色豊かな祭り、南欧の太陽に恵まれた田舎を旅するうちに、一人ひとりが自分と向き合う大切さに気ずかされてゆく。フラメンコ演奏が、ボリウッド音楽や踊りと溶け合う場面は、なんとも痛快である。ボリウッド映画らしく長編ではあるが、異文化と接して各自が自分なりに目覚める過程が、やはりボリウッド映画らしく丁重に軽快に描かれている。仕事中毒から抜け出る若者役をHritik Roshan が演じ、この映画でも彼の幅の広い演技の実力を見せてくれる。

40Uses for a GRANDPA と同じ作者、イラストレーターであるが、こちらお婆さんのバージョンは、４１となっているところが作者自身祖母である微笑ましさか。「この本を、アップルパイをいつも持ってきてくれた祖母に捧げます」と、こちらの冒頭には書いてある。お爺さんバージョンと同様に、ページを開けるごとに楽しくて微笑ましい、お婆さんと孫達の関わりが描かれている。絵本は親子で読むだけでなく、祖父母と孫でも楽しめれることを再確認出来る内容である。
