In Spanish, the word Calavera means “Skull”. Mexican artist, Lupe Posada (1852 – 1913 )  learned the art of printing at a young age and drew political cartoons. And she proved everyone wrong by zooming ahead of her classmate, starting college at fifteen, and eventually joining NASA, where here calculation helped pioneer American’s first manned flight into space, is first manned orbit of Earth, and the world’s first trip to the moon!

数学者キャサリン・ジョンソンの人生物語を基にした絵本。キャサリンは、アフリカ系アメリカ人が他の人達と同等の権利を持たないのは、間違っていると思った。彼女はまた、女性は教師か看護婦にしかなれないのも、間違っていると思った。そして事実彼女は、多くの人達を驚かせるほど、１５歳で大学入学し、やがてはNASAで米国の宇宙開発に複雑な計算をこなして貢献し、人類を月に導いたのだ！
