The author/illustrator uses very few words but shows powerful communication with pictures and the natural elements of earth, air, fire, and water. The thought-provoking fable is valuable to learn true communication, even for adult readers.

文字と絵の効果が大いに発揮されている、大変に意欲的な作品。二人の異なる少年が自己主張を継続して周囲を破壊してしまう。その体験から学び､互いに平穏を保つ努力をするストーリーだが、発する言葉が争いの原因となった後からは、文字もページから減少している。コミュニケーション方法や心理学さえも含めて、子どもだけでなく大人にも手にして欲しい絵本である。
