A black father, who was born and raised in America, wants to spend his life in Tanzania. And his wish comes true, and then he gets a family in Tanzania. One day, his children are waiting for their grandmother and aunt, who come from America, and for celebrating together their grandma’s 85th birthday. Their grandma receives the surprised present of traveling Safari and the historical ruins where many Africans were kept to send to the new continent as slaves. 米国で生まれ育った米国黒人の父親は、大人になって、タンザニアで新しい人生を歩むことにした。ある日、米国から訪れる祖母と叔母を迎える為に、子ども達はうきうきした。タンザニアで迎える８５歳の祖母の誕生日には、皆でサプライズを用意していた。それは動物達に親しむ旅であると共に、家族にとっての歴史が刻まれた奴隷収容所の遺跡訪問でもあった。壮大な歴史の流れの中に浸りながらも、家族の愛情が脈打っている絵本。巻末には絵本の背景解説とタンザニアの紹介もある。
