As they go about their days and James tries harder and harder to get her to talk to him, they both realize that true friendship surpasses any rumor….or misunderstanding.

親友のジェームスに立腹した少女の心の葛藤を、子どもにも解り易く語り、描いている。「自分のことを完璧だと思っている」と、皆に自分のことを言いふらしたと思い込んだ少女は、ジェームスを学校で避けるようになった。ところが完璧なのは彼女が描いた絵のことであったのだが、その絵の受賞が発表されるまで、本人は気ずかなかった。誤解とコミュニケーション、そして友情を語ったこうした絵本が出版されるのは、大いに嬉しいことだ。イラストも感情の隆起に合わせて見事に表現されている。
