Oliver’s class has been learning about elections and presidential responsibilities. As comparing between his teacher’s job and the President’s job, Oliver finds a lot of similarity. His teacher would be the perfect candidate for the President.

二つの文化の比較ではあるが、民族文化ではなく職業文化の比較である。しかも発想が実に楽しく、その発想に子ども心の自由さ、暖かさ、観察力、寛容さが弾けるように光っている。自分達の担任の先生と米国大統領の仕事を比較する発想が、ユニークそのものでもあり、教師の仕事に改めて敬意を表したくなる。童話作家以前に教師をしていた作者の創作力には、脱帽である。
