Miral is the story of a Palestinian girl coming of age amidst the war zone of the Israeli-Arab conflict.  Following the death of her mother, Miral’s father is forced to entrust Miral to the orphanage of Hind Husseini (Hiam Abbass), a woman whose commitment to peace through education has a profound impact on the maturing young woman as her epic journey to self-esteem and social consciousness proves both harrowing and hopeful.  >>>>>Hiam Abbas is also starring in “Lemon Tree”.                                  

パレスチナ人の弧児たちを集めて教育をしていた実在人物の女性の人生と、イスラエル・パレスチナの政治的な問題に巻き込まれてゆく少女Miralの人生が流れてゆく。1993年のオスロにおけるイスラエルとパレスチナの平和合意に至るまでの歳月が、イスラエルのウエスト・バンクの緊張と共に描かれている。パレスチナ人でもある女優 Hiam Abbass は、Lemon Tree と同様に、この映画でも素晴らしい演技力を発揮している。
