A Bottle in the Gaza Sea

Based on the internationally best selling novel by Valerie Zenatti.  17-year-old Tal has emigrated from France to Jerusalem with her Jewish family. One day she becomes a witness of Terror attach a Café, and she writes a letter expressing her refusal to accept that only hatred can reign between Israelis and Palestinians. Tal slips the letter into a bottle, and her brother throws it into the Gaza sea, where he is on military duty. Latter Tel receives an e-mail from Naim, a 20-years-old Palestinian in Gaza, and  Tel and Naim are trying to understand and change through their tender friendship.

フランスからユダヤ人の家族とイスラエルに移民した17歳の少女が、エルサレムでキャフェのテロを目撃した。日常的に繰り広げられる暴力に、疑問を投げかける英文の手紙を入れたビンを、兵役につく兄に頼んで海に流してもらった。その手紙を見つけたガザに住むパレスチナ人の青年は20歳で母と2人暮らし。インターネットで交信を始めた多感な年齢の未知の男女が、緊張の空気の中にも希望を見出し、前向きに進もうとする姿に好感がもてる。ヘブライ語、アラビア語、フランス語が画面の中で飛び交うが、若き二人の友情がすがすがしい。
